‘The River’s Tale’ now in stores

river cover altIt was a busy week. On Wednesday, we celebrated the launch of Michael Virtanen’s The River’s Tale with a book signing at Schenectady County Community College. The college sold two dozen books in an hour. The event was the idea of Pamela Walsh, an English professor who has used Mike’s first novel, Within a Forest Dark, in her reading and writing classes. Jack Kirkland, the main character in the first book, reappears in The River’s Tale as a secondary character. In both books, he is an insurance examiner investigating what may be a suspicious death.

North Country Books of Utica is distributing The River’s Tale to a variety of stores in upstate New York. We are told it’s now available at  bookstores in New Hartford, Syracuse, and Watertown, among other places. In addition, we have left  books at the Open Door in Schenectady, the Mountaineer in Keene Valley, Bookstore Plus in Lake Placid,  the Community Store in Saranac Lake, and Hudson River Trading Company in North Creek.

We’ll be getting the book into other stores soon. Meanwhile, you can always buy the book directly from us at Lost Pond Press. Click here to find out more about the novel and/or purchase it. Until we upgrade our website, you can purchase only one copy at a time, but if you email us we can arrange to sell you multiple copies.

Mike will be signing copies of The River’s Tale at the Open Door on Saturday, June 15. Details to come.
